1. Begin by working out the details of your project. You may wish to consult various literature, professionals, and contractors for ideas. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) also provides free technical advice. To take advantage of this service contact the ODNR Office of Coastal Management at 1-888-OhioCMP (1-888-644-6267) or coastal@dnr.state.oh.us.
   
2. Next, determine which ODNR authorizations your project will require. If you need help determining if your project is within a Coastal Erosion Area or for help determining which authorizations are required, contact the Office of Coastal Management at 1-888-OhioCMP.
   
3. You are now ready to complete the applications form. To complete the application, you may need to obtain several application submittals, including construction drawings. Instructions on these submittals are provided.
   
4. Mail the completed applications form and the application submittals, to: ODNR Office of Coastal Management, 105 West Shoreline Drive, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
   
5. Construction may begin once all of the necessary authorizations are obtained, including these and other local, state and federal authorizations.
