The 18.9-acre Euclid Beach Area is one of six sites in the Cleveland Lakefront State Park system. The park’s access road is north off State Route 283 (Lake Shore Boulevard) one-third mile east of the East 156th Street intersection.

The Euclid Beach Area was added to the Cleveland Lakefront State Park system in 1982, but its recreational history dates back to 1895 when the very popular Euclid Beach Amusement Park opened on site. The amusement park closed in 1969 and its roller coasters and rides were either relocated or razed.

Today, in the state park and surrounding privately held land, vestiges of several attractions are visible. These include the former shuffleboard area, remnants of the beachside fountain, and concrete footers from the Flying Turns roller coaster’s loading station and track. The only remaining fully intact structure is the former amusement park’s entrance arch, a Cleveland Historic Landmark, which is over East 159th Street north of Lake Shore Boulevard.

Euclid Beach features a foot-friendly sand swimming beach. Shore access connects directly to the swimming beach at the adjacent Villa Angela Area, creating nearly a half-mile of publicly accessible coast. Additional amenities at Euclid Beach include picnic shelters, a rentable pavilion, bathhouse, playground equipment, trails and a concession stand. Fishing is permitted. The Cleveland Lakefront Bikeway is routed through Euclid Beach.
