- 		The Sandusky Bay Bridge Access is a state-operated public fishing site approximately 4.2 miles west of Dempsey Fishing Access. The nearly mile long access extending south into the waters of Sandusky Bay was once the northern causeway approach to the former Sandusky Bay Bridge. The former two-lane bridge connected Danbury Township in Ottawa County with the village of Bay View in Erie County. In 1965, the majority of the former bridge’s traffic was rerouted west to the new four-lane Thomas A. Edison Memorial Bridge (State Routes 2 and 269).

Prior to the Edison Bridge’s completion, the Bay Bridge was the only way for automobile traffic to cross Sandusky Bay. The old bridge featured a lift between the northern and southern causeway approaches, which remained open until 1985. The state removed the bridge’s center because of high maintenance costs. Following the center lift’s removal, both causeways became popular fishing sites.

Today, on some maps the state fishing access is marked as State Fishing Access/Yetter Road. The fishing access is just east of state Route 269 and south off of East Bayshore Road in Danbury Township.		 Location Map:
