CMAG 2000		 Waterworks Park in downtown Port Clinton borders Lake Erie and the Portage River. Fishing access is available along the river and from the Jefferson Street Pier that extends into the lake at the river’s mouth. A dense buffer of vegetation along the lakeshore makes direct water access difficult. The park does not have a swimming beach; however Port Clinton City Beach is located to the east. The Port Clinton Lakefront Preserve, acquired by the city in November 2009, creates a seamless stretch of publicly accessible shore connecting Waterworks Park to the city beach.

In addition to the paved walkway along the river, Waterworks Park has a handicap accessible paved walking trail, funded in part by an Ohio Coastal Management Program grant. The trail meanders through the park and along the shore terminating at the east end of the property north of Derby Pond. Other amenities include picnic facilities, playground equipment, a skate park, baseball field and Derby Pond which is stocked for children’s fishing enjoyment.

A limited-time free parking lot is located north of Perry Street (State Route 163) at Jefferson Street. The Jefferson Street Pier offers a parking lot which at times includes a gate fee. Additional free parking is found south of Perry Street along Adams Street and throughout the downtown area.		 Location Map:
