Register Your Boat

Boat registrations are good for three years and expire on March 1.

All boats need to be registered in Ohio, including canoes, kayaks and inflatables with 2 or more cells.

What you need to register a boat

Online registration renewal is now available. Renewal notices are being mailed in batches throughout January. If you don't received your renewal notice by February, contact us.

Renew through the mail [Forms], or in person at a Boat Registration Agent.

Ohio's Mandatory Boater Education Law for persons born on or after January 1, 1982, who operate a boat greater than 10HP (effective 1/1/2000)
