*About the Plat Map Image Files

These Zipped files contain CCITT Group 4 compressed Tagged Image File Format (TIFF or .tif) images of the original plat map drawings of the Ohio & Erie, and Miami & Erie Canals as surveyed from approximately 1890 to 1915.

Plat Map Image File Size, Format, and Image Viewers

The files consist of black & white, one bit, 400 x 400 dpi, compressed TIFF files. The compression method used is CCITT Group 4. File sizes of compressed images range from around 94k to 650k. Expanded file sizes range from 16.4 to 23 megabytes. Physical size of each drawing, if printed at 100%, is approximately 29 x 41 inches; some are smaller.
