Soil Data Mart Information
What can be done at the Soil Data Mart?
	Download spatial soils data
	Download soil layers
	Download access template (to view and query tabular information for joining to the soil layer)
	Download tabular data to import into Access template
	Generate up to date soil tables (like the ones in the County Soil Surveys)

When downloading soils information from the Soil Data Mart:

Know the version of Access you have so you can choose the right Access template Choose the Tabular and Spatial Data for download Choose the right projection Choose the spatial format as Arcview Shapefile Enter your email and submit request

Be sure to access both the spacial and tabular information at the Soil Data Mart.

If only the spatial information is downloaded, all you will be able to symbolize are map unit names. If the tabular data is joined to the soil layer there are an endless number of properties that can be symbolized.

For example:

• Highly erodible land
• Septic tank suitability
• Hydric soils
• Hydrologic group
• Flooding frequency
• Many physical and chemical properties
• And many more
