Climate Literacy: The Essential Principles of Climate Sciences  Information for individuals and communities to understand Earth's climate, impacts of climate change, and approaches for adapting and mitigating change. Provides resources for educators and media, including the Climate Literacy Framework.  Principles in the Essential Principles guide can serve as discussion starters or launching points for scientific inquiry. The guide can also serve educators who teach climate science as part of their science curricula.   Development of the guide was sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Multiple science agencies, non-governmental organizations, and numerous individuals also contributed through extensive review and comment periods. Brochure

Changing CO2 Promises Surprising Changes in Plant Communities USDA ARS News Service. High carbon dioxide (CO2) levels—an important contributor to global warming—have changed the botanical composition of the world’s grasslands, farms, and urban landscapes by increasing the growth, reproduction, or survival of some species more than others. The greatest changes may have already happened, so studies of past effects offer clues to future surprises.  Online Content - Research Report
