| Integrated Planning for Resilient Communities: A Technical Guide to Integrating Hazard, Ecosystem and Land Use Planning |
This toolkit is designed to support integrated planning that addresses hazard mitigation and ecosystem-based planning within a land use planning context. The toolkit crosses disciplines and cross jurisdictional boundaries and can highlight the benefits of ecosystem conservation on hazard exposure and vice versa. This document provides an explanation of the integration of three decision-support tools and methods, and the implementation of an integrated analysis of hazards, ecosystem conservation goals, and land use measures. |

| Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy |
A section of the UWEX Sustainability Capacity Center. In this time of record-high energy prices, recognition of the tie between national security and energy independence, utility system reliability and global climate change concerns, energy efficiency is a key approach among the remedies. A local government or business must act strategically to make the most of every Btu. This section of the UWEX Sustainability Capacity Center will include links with information on how to measure current energy use and to create an energy plan with the technologies and practices, programs and policies that maximize energy efficiency and cost savings. |

| Carbon Value Analysis Tool |
CVAT is a screening tool to help companies integrate the value of carbon dioxide emissions reductions into energy-related investment decisions. The tool has two main purposes:
Test the sensitivity of a project's internal rate of return (IRR) to "carbon value" (the value of GHG emissions reductions). CVAT integrates this value into traditional financial analysis by ascribing a market price, either actual or projected, to carbon emissions reductions; facilitate the development of emissions reduction strategies by developing a Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (MACC) across a portfolio of projects. CVAT ranks projects so managers can prioritize them according to their implicit cost per tonne of carbon emission reduction. |

| NOAA Seminar Series: "A Climate Change Decision Support System for Water Managers" |
Riverside Technology, inc. has developed a Climate Change Decision Support System (DSS) as part of a NOAA SBIR project to provide water managers with information to assess the potential impact of climate change on water resources. The DSS provides tools to help water managers explore the range of current GCM climate projections, develop scenarios of climate-adjusted streamflow, and export datasets needed to test adaptation alternatives for managing future risks to water supply. The presentation will describe the current capabilities of the DSS, provide example products, and discuss future enhancements. |
