LOCATION
Bresler Reservoir is situated in west-central Allen County, Amanda Township, 4 miles west of Lima. It is approximately 1 mile south of State Route 81 and 1 mile north of State Route 117 on Kemp and Grubb Roads.

HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION
Bresler is an upground reservoir; water is obtained by pumping from the Auglaize River, approximately 3 miles away. It was completed in late 1970 and was filled during 1971. The reservoir is part of the
Northwest Ohio Water Development Plan, designed to provide water to the city of Lima, low-flow augmentation to the Auglaize River, and water for agricultural uses and recreation. It was built cooperatively by the city of Lima and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Bresler Reservoir has a surface area of 582 acres at maximum water level. Its maximum depth is 44 feet near the northeast corner, with an average depth of 27 feet and a storage capacity of approximately 5 billion gallons. The conservation pool is below the 30-foot depth and comprises 25 percent or 152 acres of the reservoir, with pool depths from 2 to 14 feet and an average depth of 8 feet. An underwater island adjacent to the conservation pool along the southern shoreline has shallower depths to 10 feet. This shallower water provides better food production than the deeper waters of the reservoir and serves as a fish concentration device. The only aquatic vegetation beds in the reservoir are around this underwater island and in the shoreline area south of the boat ramp.

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES
The boat ramp and main parking area is on the east side of the reservoir off Kemp Road. To the north of the main parking area on Kemp Road is a second smaller parking area. Another larger parking area with sanitary facilities and drinking water is near the southwest corner of the reservoir off Agerter Road. Additional parking areas are strategically located along the west side of the reservoir off Grubb Road.

FISH MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
