A.C.E. (Awards Celebrating Excellence)
ODNR’s Employee Recognition Program
Employee recognition programs have long been a way to recognize those people who have consistently displayed a positive attitude in performing their job responsibilities. ODNR, through the Office of Human Resources, has recently unveiled the new Awards Celebrating Excellence program, or ACE for short.
Bernadette Favor, human resources coordinator, recently explained, “Nominations for ACE are made by ODNR employees ? and anyone is eligible to be nominated: full and part time, established term regular and irregular. Nominees are required to have worked at ODNR at least a year and had no disciplinary action within the past year.”
There are, however, a few exceptions. The director, assistant directors, executive staff, chiefs, and deputy/ assistant chiefs are not eligible.
“Awards are given three times a year ? April, August, and December,” she continued. “Each term, three employees and one project team will be recognized. Winners are selected by a committee that grades performance on a numerical basis.” Names on the nomination forms are replaced by a code number to keep the process anonymous and confidential.
Bernadette said that prizes have been selected to reflect the importance of employee excellence. They range from a two-night stay at a state park cabin to lunch with the director.
For program details, please review the following fact sheet. Nomination forms are available from the Human Resources office and on-line at ohiodnr.com/hr. Call Bernadette with other questions at 614-265-6840; fax completed forms to her at 614-265-7002.
