THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE VETERANS DAY HOLIDAY, PHEASANTS WILL BE RELEASED FOR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11 INSTEAD OF THE TRADITIONAL 2ND SATURDAY.  In addition, birds are released for the youth hunts prior to the regular pheasant hunting season. The planned number of pheasants to be released are listed for each wildlife area below, the actual number of birds released will depend upon numbers available.

Please note: pheasants will be released for the youth hunts on October 22-23 and 29-30 on the Ringneck Ridge and Tiffin River wildlife areas.  Hunters interested in hunting the Ringneck Ridge Area in Sandusky County (for the youth and regular pheasant seasons) will require a free permit from the Sandusky County Park District.  For more information regarding the issuance of these free hunting permits, contact the Sandusky County Park Office at 419/334-4495 or the Sandusky County Park District Ranger Office at 419/637-2900.
