XENIA, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife will again hold controlled hunts on Fallsville, Indian Creek, Bott, Spring Valley, and Rush Run Wildlife Areas by permit only Sept. 1 and 2, 2012. These areas will be open to all other dove hunters after the first 2 days of the season. Youth priority hunts will take place at St. Marys Fish Hatchery.

COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Wildlife Council has approved the state's early migratory game bird hunting seasons for this fall, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Sept. 1 kicks off the state’s hunting season with the opening of dove, Canada goose, teal, rail, moorhen and snipe.

FINDLAY, OH -- Hunters interested in hunting Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area on the opening day of teal and early goose season are encouraged to enter a lottery, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife. In addition, a second day of hunting will be held on Labor Day. Deadline for submitting a lottery entry is August 6.

ATHENS, OH – For the second year in a row, more than 100 bobcats have been shown to be living in Ohio’s southeastern counties with the confirmation of 136 sightings by state wildlife officials during 2011, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The reports show an increase from the 106 verified sightings in 2010.
