The first is a lottery card drawing for the opening day of the Teal/Early Goose season. The morning drawing will be for all applicants. The afternoon drawing will be Youth Only. The cases of seven Defiance County poachers charged with 56 wildlife violations has drawn to a conclusion. The subjects were sentenced on April 10, 2008 in the Defiance Municipal Court. The Honorable Judge John Rohrs III sentenced the subjects to a combined total of over $17,000 in fines, court costs and restitution. Hunting privileges were also suspended for a combined total of 33 years, according to Defiance City Law Director, David Lands.

The mitigation of a 1993 diesel fuel spill in Indiana that affected a Williams County, Ohio stream has finally been concluded. Fish Creek was severely affected killing off invertebrates, mussels, fish, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds. An oil pipeline burst causing 30,000 gallons of fuel to spill into Fish Creek.
