FINDLAY, OH – Cody Klima, 23, was recently named as the new wildlife officer assigned to Lucas County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Wildlife Officer Klima’s new assignment follows the promotion of former Lucas County Wildlife Officer Kevin Newsome.  Officer Newsome was promoted to Law Enforcement Unit B Supervisor, which includes Lucas County.

Wildlife Officer Van Cleve’s new assignment follows the retirement of former long time Ottawa County Wildlife Officer John Waltos.

Bird watchers were out in force during the recent International Migratory Bird Day and Biggest Week In American Birding Celebrations at the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.  Over 50,000 birders from across the United States and from around the world, visited northwest Ohio May 1 - 16 to view migrating song birds.

FINDLAY, OH – Interested waterfowl hunters are invited to participate in several controlled hunting opportunities at the Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area.  The first is a lottery card drawing for the opening day of the Teal/Early Goose season.  The morning drawing will be for all applicants.  The afternoon drawing will be Youth Only.  Interested applicants need to mail in a 4x6 inch index card with the applicant’s name, address and phone number  to: Wildlife District Two, 952 Lima Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840.  The drawing in which the card is to be entered should be designated at the top (Youth Teal or Adult Teal).  Post cards need to be postmarked by August
