CLINTON COUNTY DEER HARVEST WORKSHOP OCTOBER 18
PREPARE YOUR TROPHY FOR THE WALL AND THE FREEZER
 
WILMINGTON, OH - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife in conjunction with the Ohio State University Extension Office in Clinton County are hosting a Deer Harvest Workshop from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, Floral Hall, on Thursday, October 18, 2007.
 
There is a $5.00 fee for the workshop to cover the costs of a light supper of venison sandwiches that will be served during the evening. Participants are asked to pre-register by October 15. Please call the Ohio State University Extension Office in Clinton County at 937-382-0901 to register.
 
Presentations will include speakers from Cosliafin Deer Processing, J.B. Taxidermy Studio, Division of Wildlife, OSU Extension Office as well as presentations on field preservation of trophies for mounting, field dressing, preparing venison for the freezer and the table, and skinning and butchering. The Division of Wildlife will cover wildlife issues and laws and regulations for the upcoming season. Participants are also encouraged to bring their mounts to be scored during the evening. All registered youth under the age of 18 will receive a FREE gun lock.
