Quail Forever to hold information seminar
BETHEL, OH – The Brown-Clermont County Chapter of Quail Forever (QF) in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife and Bethel Feed will sponsor an information seminar on quail and quail habitat October 24, 2009.
Quail Forever (QF), a non-profit organization dedicated to quail conservation and education, was started in the summer of 2005 by its parent organization, Pheasants Forever (PF). QF is dedicated to the protection and enhancement of quail, pheasant and other upland wildlife through habitat improvement, public awareness, education and advocacy for sound land management policy. The Brown-Clermont chapter is Ohio’s first chapter and they have completed numerous habitat improvement projects as well as several youth events in just a few short years. This workshop will assist in educating the public on the status of the bobwhite in Ohio and offer information on creating and protecting vital quail habitat in the community. Wildlife biologist, Heidi Devine, from the Division of Wildlife will give presentations on the bobwhite quail, and managing your land for the popular little whistling bird.
The workshop will be held at Bethel Feed, West Plain Street, Bethel, OH. The seminar will begin an 11:00 am. The program is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served. The QF chapter will also hold a drawing for a cruise to Mexico. All proceeds will go directly toward conservation programs currently underway by Brown-Clermont QF.
