HURON, OH – An upcoming workshop will provide skill-building and networking opportunities for those interested in securing grants for environmental projects.
The Green Grants Workshop will feature a panel discussion and sessions focused on grant seeking and writing for environmental projects such as recycling and litter prevention, Lake Erie protection and restoration, environmental education, renewable energy, and green building. Grant program managers and grant writing experts from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Ohio Lake Erie Commission, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, and Sandusky Erie County Community Foundation will be on hand. The event will be held December 3 at the Cedar Point Center on the Firelands Campus of Bowling Green State University in Huron.
Organized by the Erie Solid Waste District in coordination with the Ohio Coastal Training Program and Erie Soil and Water Conservation District, the workshop will target government officials and non-profit organizations.
“Participants will hone their grant-writing skills and increase their awareness of funding sources for environmental projects,” said Lisa Beursken, coordinator for the Erie Solid Waste Management District.
The workshop will run for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the cost is $20 per person. A continental breakfast and lunch are included for the fee. Online registrations are being accepted through November 27 or when capacity is reached at: http://www.coastaltrainingohio.net
