SPECIAL YOUTH TURKEY HUNT TO BE HELD AT HUESTON WOODS STATE PARK

COLLEGE CORNER, OHIO - Young turkey hunters will be able to take advantage of a permit only Youth Turkey Hunt at Hueston Woods State Park on the opening day of the statewide youth season, April 17, 2010.

Hunters 17 years old and younger accompanied by a non-hunting adult will be able to apply for the drawing to hunt within specified zones within Hueston Woods State Park.

Registration for the drawing gets underway on Saturday , March 20, 2010 beginning at 1:00p.m. the non-hunting adult that will be accompanying the youth hunter on the hunt must enter the drawing. The permit will be issued in the adult’s name. If drawn, the youth hunter must purchase an Ohio hunting license and youth turkey permit.

The drawing will be held promptly at 2:00p.m. at Hueston Woods State Park Office located at 6301 Park Office Rd., College Corner. The contact number for the park is (513) 523-6347.

The youth must hunt with a non-hunting licensed adult within the zone specified on the permit. At the completion of the hunt ,all hunters must check in at the Hueston Woods State Park Office 6301 Park Office Rd., College Corner. All other rules and regulations must be followed.

The permit in transferable however the park office (513) 523-6347 must be notified of any changes prior to the hunt.

The hunt will occur on April 17, 2010. Hunting hours are ½ before sunrise to noon.
