Special Youth Turkey Hunting Rules at Lake La Su An Wildlife Area

 
Findlay, OH -- Interested youth hunters are invited to attend the drawing at the Lake La Su An Wildlife Area Headquarters, located at 09-455 Road R, Pioneer, Ohio, on Saturday, March 6, 2010.  Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.; Drawing to begin at 10:00 a.m.

• A drawing will be held for permits for hunters 17 years of age and younger for turkey hunting.
• Hunting dates are:  April 17 - May 16, 2010
• Youth hunters must bring a valid hunting license to register.  Youth hunters are not required to be present to participate.  Adults may register a youth with the youth’s valid hunting license.
• Hunters will place a registration card in a drum, and names will be drawn for available hunting days.
• Hunters will be drawn for either a 2-day or 3-day hunt permit.
• As names are drawn, that hunter will pick days and section that they wish to hunt.
• Names will be drawn until all dates and sections are all taken; a total of 72 dates/sections are available.
• Permits are valid for one non-hunting adult and one licensed youth hunter.
• Permits are transferable, permitees and their non-hunting adult must sign the permit before entering the wildlife area on the day of their hunt.  To transfer, please follow the instructions on the permit.
• Turkey hunting on the Lake La Su An Wildlife Area will be restricted to youth hunting with a valid permit only. Mobility Impaired Hunters will be permitted to hunt turkeys with a current valid EPAPV permit for use on the Mobility Impaired Road ONLY .  All Ohio turkey hunting regulations apply.
• Young hunters whose names are drawn must also possess a valid turkey permit prior to their hunting date.
