New Wildlife Officer Assigned to Harrison County
AKRON, OH – Nicholas W. Turner, 22, of Salineville, Ohio was recently assigned as the new Harrison County wildlife officer, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Wildlife Officer Turner’s new assignment follows former Harrison County wildlife officer Neil Lynskey’s retirement on February, 28, 2010.
“Nick is a very friendly and approachable wildlife officer who will serve the citizens of Harrison County well on all wildlife-related programs, while enforcing fish and wildlife regulations to conserve our wildlife resources,” said Doug Miller, law enforcement supervisor for Division of Wildlife in northeast Ohio.
Turner is a 2006 graduate of Highland High School in Medina County. In 2008, he received an Associate’s Degree in fish and wildlife management from Hocking College. Before becoming an at-large state wildlife officer in July 2009, Turner worked as a seasonal employee at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area. He is also a certified Ohio Hunter Education Instructor. Wildlife Officer Turner can be reached by calling Wildlife District Three in Akron at (330) 245-3049.
