Lucas County Wildlife Officer Promoted
FINDLAY, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife is pleased to announce the promotion of Wildlife Officer Kevin Newsome to Wildlife Officer Supervisor.
Officer Newsome was raised in Clyde, Ohio and graduated from Clyde High School in 1995. He graduated from Hocking College in 1997 with an associate’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Management. He lives in Lucas County with his wife and daughter.
Officer Newsome has been the wildlife officer assigned to Lucas County since 2001. Prior to that, Newsome was a seasonal employee for the Ohio Division of Wildlife for 4 years.
“I will miss the everyday contact with the sportsmen of Lucas County, but I am excited to be working with the Wildlife Officers in Unit B”, says Newsome. “I know them all and they do great work for the people of Ohio. I look forward to working with them to ensure that Northwest Ohio remains a great place to hunt, fish, trap and view wildlife”, continued Newsome.
The Unit B law enforcement unit is comprised of Erie, Fulton, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wood Counties.
Officer Newsome replaces Officer Gino Barna who took over the duties of Law Enforcement Supervisor of the Lake Erie Law Enforcement Unit.
