Lima Peregrine Falcons to be Banded

FINDLAY, OH -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife will be banding peregrine falcon chicks from the Chase Bank Building nest in Lima on Tuesday May 18.

Anyone interested may meet with Division of Wildlife biologists at approximately 10:00 a.m. on the town square, which is located on the corner of West Market Street and North Main Street.   Inclement weather may delay or cancel the banding.  Please contact the Wildlife District Two Office at 419.424.5000 with questions.

Ohio’s peregrine falcon program is supported by the state income tax check-off, donations to the Wildlife Diversity and Endangered Species Fund, and sales of the cardinal license plate.  License plates may be purchased from local deputy registrars or by calling 1-888-PLATES3.

The nesting activities of peregrine falcons around the state can be viewed by visiting the Division’s peregrine falcon page.  Cameras monitoring the nest site in Columbus can be accessed through this page.
