New Wildlife Officer Assigned to Lucas County

FINDLAY, OH – Cody Klima, 23, was recently named as the new wildlife officer assigned to Lucas County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Wildlife Officer Klima’s new assignment follows the promotion of former Lucas County Wildlife Officer Kevin Newsome.  Officer Newsome was promoted to Law Enforcement Unit B Supervisor, which includes Lucas County.

“It is great to have Cody as part of the law enforcement program in Wildlife District Two.  He will be a great asset to the Ohio Division of Wildlife’s mission in Lucas County,” said Paul Kurfis, law enforcement supervisor for Wildlife District Two in northwest Ohio.

Klima is from Ottawa in Putnam County and is a 2005 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School.  Additionally, he is a 2008 graduate from the University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.  He started as an officer-at-large in Wildlife District 5 after graduating from the Ohio Wildlife Officer Academy in July of 2009.
