Dalton Man Convicted of Wildlife-related Charges

CADIZ, OH – Wildlife officials received a complaint at the 1-800-POACHER hotline of a trespasser hunting deer during the 2009 bonus deer gun season. The tip led to the conviction a Dalton man according to the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Kevin Glick, 42, of Dalton, pled no contest to three wildlife-related charges in Harrison County Court recently. The Honorable Judge Mark Beetham convicted Glick on one count of aiding in hunting without permission and two counts of failing to maintain records on his hunting preserve, KG Deer and Elk Ranch in Cadiz. Glick was ordered to pay a total of $1,359 in fines and court costs and to serve one year probation with 30 days of jail suspended pending good behavior. Judge Beetham noted in writing that Glick β€œis not to be involved in and must not participate in hunting or guiding outside the fence of his game preserve and he shall obey all laws of State of Ohio.”
Many investigations and surveillance operations are the result of concerned citizen reports and calls to the Turn-In-a-Poacher hotline. Callers can leave information on the TIP line 24 hours a day and the information may be left anonymously. To report a wildlife violation, call 1-800-POACHER, a county wildlife officer or submit information here
