PUBLIC RAINBOW TROUT STOCKING AT ANTRIM LAKE
Large adult fish provide fun, successful angling

COLUMBUS, OH - In what has become a pre-Thanksgiving tradition, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife, in conjunction with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, will be stocking about 600 adult, excess brood stock rainbow trout in Antrim Lake on November 24th.

Fish are expected to arrive at the lake late Wednesday morning.  Fisheries biologists and technicians will put the fish into the lake using nets and tubes.

“The brood stock are large fish that are excess breeders from the London State Fish Hatchery that range from about 15 to 30 inches long and weigh three to ten pounds,” according to Rich Carter, Fish Management Supervisor for the central Ohio district of the Division of Wildlife. “This is a great chance for youth and adults to experience the thrill of catching a really big trout.  Many families enjoy fishing this event to kick off their holiday”.

Fishing is open to the public, and the daily bag limit is five trout per angler.  Anglers 16 years of age and older must have an Ohio fishing license.  The annual resident license costs $19.00.  A one-day fishing license costs $11.00.
