Wildlife Managers Seek Input from Ohio’s Waterfowl Hunters
Survey is online at wildohio.com

COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife is asking Ohio waterfowl hunters to share their opinions regarding potential changes to waterfowl hunting zone boundaries.

Every five years, state wildlife agencies have the opportunity to establish, change or eliminate waterfowl hunting zone boundaries. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service may allow states to have three waterfowl hunting zones with split seasons as early as the 2011-12 waterfowl season.

Ohio waterfowl hunters are being asked to participate in an online survey because zoning has the potential to significantly impact hunting opportunities and satisfaction. The survey is available at this link until March 31.

The Division of Wildlife is gathering Ohio waterfowl hunters’ opinions and comments regarding the use of hunting zones as a tool to set duck seasons within Ohio in future years. Although this survey is not about the timing of hunting season dates, future surveys will address those issues once the zone boundaries and related options are established.
