New Wildlife Officer Assigned to Clermont County

XENIA, OH –Wildlife Officer Mike Ohlrich was recently assigned as the new Clermont County Wildlife Officer, according to the ODNR Division of Wildlife. Wildlife Officer Ohlrich’s new assignment follows former Clermont County Wildlife Officer Terry Glynns retirement in December of 2010.  Officer Glynn served nearly thirty years with the Division of Wildlife.

Wildlife officers have statewide jurisdiction to enforce wildlife regulations, investigate allegations of waterway pollution, protect state property and make arrests. They also conduct educational programs, advise landowners on dealing with wildlife, and keep local agencies and conservation organizations updated on wildlife projects and regulations. They frequently work alone and can be assigned anywhere in the state.

Ohlrich is a 2005 graduate of Liberty Center High School in Henry County.  In 2008, he received an associate's degree in wildlife sciences from Hocking College. Ohlrich worked in the land management department at the Toledo Metro parks prior to being accepted as a cadet in the Wildlife Academy. He graduated from the academy in July of 2009. He was assigned as an Officer at Large with Law Enforcement Unit A within Wildlife District Two until his promotion to Clermont County in February.

Wildlife Officer Ohlrich's voicemail can be reached by calling Wildlife District Five in Xenia at (937) 372-9261.
