JAMES DONNELL KONKEL WETLAND DEDICATION

FINDLAY, OH -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife is pleased to announce the dedication of the James Donnell Konkel Wetland at the Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area.  The dedication will take place on Thursday November 8, 2007 at 3:30 P.M.  This 40-acre complex of wetlands and grasslands was restored by breaking drain tiles and excavating seven shallow potholes.

The Konkel Wetland Restoration was a cooperative effort between the ODNR Division of Wildlife and Ducks Unlimited with funding from a National Wetlands Grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The James Donnell Konkel Wetland is located in Sandusky County.  The dedication site is east of Fremont off of Route 6.  From Route 6 head north on Lance Road (CR 216) for approximately 2 miles to CR 265.  Follow the signs to the dedication approximately .5 miles to the right.
