Make Your Site a WildSchool Site!
Educators can learn how to improve wildlife habitat
on schools grounds and use area in the everyday curriculum

UNIONTOWN, OH – Educators interested in learning how to increase or enhance wildlife habitat at their school or agency site while still teaching required classroom concepts are encouraged to attend the WILD School Sites educator workshop hosted by the Ohio Division of Wildlife and Green Primary School in Summit County.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 19th from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Greenwood Early Learning Center, 2250 Graybill Road, Uniontown. There is no fee for this workshop but pre-registration is required and spaces are limited. For more information or to register, contact Jamey Graham at (330) 245-3020 or email Jamey.Graham@dnr.state.oh.us.
The WILD School Sites program is an action extension of Project WILD, a supplementary, multi-disciplinary environmental education program that is used to teach science, math, language arts, and many other school subjects with wildlife management concepts as its basis. WILDSchool Sites allows the student to take what they have learned from their classrooms and apply it to the creation of wildlife habitat on their school grounds. Like Project WILD, the projects and activities students use on their WILDSchool Site can help them achieve better understanding in any subject.
WILDSchool Sites are also called land labs, habitats for learning, outdoor classrooms, and school nature areas. But whatever the name, the concept is the same: to provide students an opportunity to learn in a more creative environment at the same time they are providing quality habitat for wildlife.
Learn more at www.ohioprojectwild.org or call 1-800-WILDLIFE (945-3543) for more information on wildlife-related educational opportunities.
