New State Wildlife Officer Assigned to Wood County

FINDLAY, OH- State Wildlife Officer Cody Klima has been assigned to Wood County on July 1, 2012, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife.

Officer Klima is a 2005 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School in Putnam County. In 2008, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toledo.

A 2009 graduate of the Wildlife Academy, Officer Klima has served with the Department of Natural Resources for 3 1/2 years. Officer Klima had been assigned to Lucas County since June of 2010.

“Although I’m sad to see Cody transfer out of Lucas County, I am happy that he will only be transferring across the Maumee River to Wood County,” said Kevin Newsome, Klima’s supervisor. “Cody has done a great job for the people of Lucas County and I’m sure he will do the same for the residents of Wood County.”

As the county wildlife officer, Officer Klima will be responsible for enforcing wildlife laws on public lands as well as private property and providing assistance to other law enforcement agencies as needed. He will also contact Ohio sportsmen and women in the field, perform fish and wildlife surveys, advise on nuisance wildlife issues and give presentations on wildlife management, hunter education, fisheries management and trapper education.

ODNR ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit ODNR’s website at www.ohiodnr.com.
