Hunters Invited to Attend Drawings for
Public Hunting Opportunities on Northeast Ohio Wildlife Areas
Drawings to take place at various locations throughout the month of September

Special Drawings To Be Held For Youth Deer & Youth Waterfowl Hunting Opportunities
At Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area Refuge

SHREVE, OH –  Youth hunters interested in hunting the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area Refuge for deer or waterfowl are required to attend the first, annual drawings on September 15, 2012. The drawing will be held to permit hunters with youth hunting licenses to hunt in the refuge portion of the Wildlife Area.

The drawing will take place at the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area Headquarters, 1691 Centerville Road, Shreve. Registration for the deer hunt drawing begins at 11:00 a.m. with the drawing beginning at 12:00 p.m. Registration for waterfowl hunt drawing begins at 1:00 p.m. with the drawing beginning at 2:00 p.m.

For deer hunting, a one-day archery hunt will take place on Saturday, October 6th. The Refuge will also be open during the statewide youth deer gun season on November 17th and 18th.  There will be seven deer hunting sections for all three hunt dates (for a total of 21 permits).

For waterfowl hunting, dates are on Saturdays and will be determined by the date of the drawing, once waterfowl seasons/splits are established.  A total of three dates and four blinds are available for each hunt (for a total of 12 permits). 
All young hunters must bring a valid 2012 youth hunting license and must be present to be eligible for the drawing.

Public Drawing To Take Place For Waterfowl Hunting Blinds At Ladue Reservoir
Drawing will be held at the Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton, Ohio

BURTON, OH –  The Ohio Division of Wildlife and the City of Akron invites waterfowl hunters to participate in a special drawing on Thursday, September 20, 2012 for hunting at LaDue Reservoir.

Registration at the Geauga County Fairgrounds will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the drawing will follow promptly at 6:00 p.m. There is no fee for applying.

Each applicant must bring a 2012-2013 hunting license and must be present to be eligible for the drawing. There are ten (10) blind sites available and a calendar will be available showing all available hunting days for the 2012-2013 waterfowl season.  In addition to drawing for the regular waterfowl season, a separate youth only drawing will be held for the two-day youth season in October.

Special Drawings To Be Held For Waterfowl Hunting Opportunities
At Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area
Drawing will be held at on September 27

SHREVE, OH – The Ohio Division of Wildlife will hold a public drawing for controlled waterfowl daily hunting permits on Thursday, September 27, 2012 for portions of Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area. The drawing will be held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 199 Vanover Street in Wooster.

Hunters are encouraged to arrive no later than 6:00 p.m. to register for the drawing which will take place promptly at 6:30 p.m. To register, each hunter must present a 2012-13 Ohio hunting license. 

Hunters will be selected to hunt one of 16 specific hunting units for each Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday during the first two weeks of the 2012 waterfowl hunting season. 

 The drawing will offer daily permits to hunt waterfowl on selected units in the Wright, Moore, and Macko marshes. Other portions of Killbuck Marsh will remain open as in past years for public hunting during the 2012- 2013 waterfowl season.

Controlled Waterfowl Hunting Opportunities at
Mogadore Reservoir & Wingfoot Lake
Public drawing for permits to be held on September 18, 2012

AKRON, OH –  Waterfowlers interested in obtaining a permit to hunt Mogadore Reservoir or Wingfoot Lake are required to attend a public drawing in Portage County on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 according to the ODNR Division of Wildlife. In addition to drawing for the regular waterfowl season, a separate youth only drawing will be held for the two-day youth season in October.

The drawings will be held at the Goodyear Hunting and Fishing Club, 1221 Wingfoot Lake Road, Mogadore, Ohio.  Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the drawings will follow promptly at 6:00 p.m. To participate in the drawings, hunters must bring valid 2012 hunting licenses.

A total of 16 blind sites will be available from which lottery winners will choose. Four sites will be drawn for Wingfoot Lake Wildlife Area and 12 sites for Mogadore Reservoir. Hunting opportunities will include selected days and weekends during the regular waterfowl season.  Both lakes are located in Portage County.
