  VISIT WILDLIFE DISTRICT THREE TO DISCUSS FISH AND WILDIFE MANAGEMENT ISSUES
Annual Open House at Akron Headquarters on March 2, 2008

AKRON, OH – The ODNR Division of Wildlife’s District Three office will welcome the public to its annual Open House on Sunday, March 2, 2008, from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 p.m.

“The open house will provide attendees a chance to comment on or discuss with wildlife biologists and wildlife officers any of the new hunting season proposals,” said Jeff Herrick, District Manager for northeast Ohio. “Interested citizens will also be able to talk to fisheries biologists about fisheries management, regulations, locations of fish concentration devices in public lakes, or pond management practices on their own property,” noted Herrick.  Wildlife Officers will also be on hand to discuss the requirements of their position for those interested in applying for the next Wildlife Officer Academy openings to be posted this spring,” stated Herrick.  Other popular topics which can be commented on or discussed include the future direction of wildlife diversity and endangered species projects in northeast Ohio.

Open house will be held at the same day and time in Akron, Athens, Columbus, Findlay, and Xenia. Information recorded at these open houses is forwarded to the division’s central office in Columbus, where it is considered during the formulation of regulations for the 2008-2009 hunting and trapping seasons.
