XENIA, OH – Mulberry Pheasantry of Camden, Ohio in conjunction with the Butler County Chapter of Pheasants Forever is holding a youth pheasant hunt complete with guides and hunting dogs on Saturday November 15, 2008. The hunt will take place at Mulberry Pheasantry Hunting Preserve, 6099 S.R. 725, Camden, Ohio 45311.
Youth hunters must pre-register by calling Tony or Wilma Petry at 937-787-3912 or 937-533-0081. Youth that have pre-registered by mail will be contacted prior to the hunt. A mail-in flyer can be found at the Division of Wildlife website calendar of events www.wildohio.com or here. There is a fee of $20.00 and includes 2 roosters, 1 lunch, a blaze orange hunting vest or blaze orange ball cap, gun safety discussion and bird cleaning demonstration. New to the event this year is trap and target shooting prior to the hunt. A limit of 75 youth has been set for this event. Registration deadline is November 5, 2008.
Youth hunters must have successfully completed the ODNR Division of Wildlife’s Hunter Safety course prior to the hunt and have a valid hunting license. All youth must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult. Participants are required to wear hunter orange.
