The Forest Industries Program’s ultimate charge is to conserve Ohio’s timber resources by providing improved logging and manufacturing technology through training and technical assistance.

Staff works cooperatively with government agencies and industrial associations to enhance Ohio’s domestic and international wood products marketing opportunities.

Ohio grows one billion board feet of wood and harvests 300-400 million board feet of timber each year.

The first piece of equipment successfully purchased through the Linked Deposit Program for low impact equipment.

The Linked Deposit Program is administered by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency with technical support from the Division of Forestry. Promoting the use of low-impact harvesting equipment is a key part of the division’s Ohio Forestry Initiative.
