CLASS "A" RANGES (Supervised Rifle and Pistol Ranges)
All persons age 18 and older shooting on Class A ranges must purchase a Shooting Range Permit which is available at all hunting & fishing license outlets. Permits are not sold at the shooting ranges. These permits partially offset the cost of the shooting range attendant, restroom facilities, maintenance, trash removal, and improvements.
Shooters age 17 and under are not required to purchase a permit, but must be accompanied by and directly monitored by an adult (age 18 years or older) holding a valid Shooting Range Permit.
Legal targets on all shooting ranges are single sheet paper targets only. Shooters must supply their own target holders, which must meet the approval of the shooting range attendant. Grand River and Spring Valley supply target holders. The shooting of fully automatic firearms, and rapid fire of semi-automatic firearms are strictly prohibited.

HOURS OF OPERATION - CLASS B, C, & D RANGES
All of the above listed target ranges are open to the public. All Class A, B, C, & D target ranges are operated by the ODNR, Division of Wildlife and are located on specific wildlife areas throughout the state. Division of Wildlife target ranges are funded primarily by hunting, fishing and trapping license revenue, not by general tax dollars.
NOTE: All Ranges are subject to closing during inclement weather, or flooding conditions. Range users are advised to contact the appropriate range number listed above or the nearest Wildlife District Office for range conditions.
These Ranges are open free-of-charge. No permit is required to use these ranges, and no range attendant or restroom facilities are provided. Archery ranges are open everyday except during holidays, sunrise to sunset, except at the Spring Valley Wildlife Area. The Archery Range at Spring Valley Wildlife Area is only open the same dates and times as the Class "A" Rifle/Pistol Range.
