Valerie Cox, Ohio Watercraft Administrator of the Year
Valerie Cox of Pataskala has been named the 2012 Administrator of the Year by the ODNR Division of Watercraft. She currently serves as a boating education safety program coordinator for the Division of Watercraft.
Cox joined ODNR in 2008 as a state watercraft officer and was assigned to the Springfield area office, then to the Alum Creek area office in Delaware County. She became a boating safety education instructor and trainer and was promoted to the position of program coordinator assigned to the Division’s central office in Columbus.
Cox is a graduate of Ashland University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science and biology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in information technology and web design from DeVry University. Prior to joining ODNR, Cox was employed as a quality assurance technician by Alloy Polymers of Gahanna.
The ODNR Division of Watercraft administers Ohio's boating programs. The agency oversees watercraft registration and titling operations, provides funding to local communities for education, enforcement and boating access facilities, educates the public, and enforces boating laws on Ohio's waterways.
The ODNR ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all.
