Welcome to the Ohio Water Information Gateway.
This site provides brief descriptions
and links to water-resources data in Ohio and is similar to a card catalog at a
library. You can find water-resources data based on key words or phrases, data owner,
location, or data content, and then quickly determine how to obtain the desired
data. Note that this site does not store the data for retrieval, but rather provides
a broad description of the data (metadata) as well as how it can be retrieved. If
you are a data owner, this site also allows you to input and update information
regarding your own datasets. To view items in the database, start your search by
simply entering a key word in the search field.
This work was financed in part through a grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection
Agency and the United States Environmental Protection Agency, under the provisions
of Section 319 (h) of the Clean Water Act. Additionally, a grant from the Ohio Water
Resources Council enabled expansion of the database to include surface-water and
meteorological data.
