Coastal resource management involves complex issues that reflect the dynamic qualities of Lake Erie and its watershed. Agencies and interested parties at all levels must work together to achieve the goal of creating a healthy coastal environment.

The Office of Coastal Management coordinates with and seeks support from agencies and groups at the local, state, federal and international levels as well as from individuals.

The Office of Coastal Management works with more closely with some agencies, including those who have partnered to develop the first unified education and outreach plan for the Lake Erie coast and watershed. Agencies actively involved in this effort include: the Ohio Department of Natural Resource’s Office of Coastal Management (OCM) ODNR’s Old Woman Creek (OWC) National Estuarine Research Reserve, Ohio State University’s Ohio Sea Grant College Program (OSG) and the Ohio Lake Erie Commission (OLEC).
