Success in protecting, managing, and using Ohio’s soil, water, and land resources is a real team effort.
I
n this year’s annual report we want to recognize that success ultimately boils down to conscientious efforts made by individual people. People who realize that even as a user of our natural resources, they must also be a steward of those resources.
We are privileged to be able to work with so many conscientious people, in rural and agricultural areas, and in every community in Ohio, urban and rural. We work hard to make our assistance helpful and meaningful. We feel fortunate to be on your team.

Urbanization changes watersheds in a multitude of ways.
The Rainwater and Land Development Manual is Ohio's source of practices aimed at minimizing negative impacts to water resources during land use change. These practices focus on a broad range of issues from preventing and capturing sediment during construction, to maintaining the natural functions of a healthy stream system.
Copies of the 2006 edition can ordered or downloaded. Also stay current by checking the Errata, provided for the 2006 edition and Practice Notes, the information source of potential changes under construction for the manual, additional references or factors important to the design of practices. more
