Coastal Resources Advisory Council Quarterly Meeting The Ohio Coastal Resources Advisory Council will hold its quarterly meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, 14000 Route 2 in Oak Harbor. 5/9/08 2008 Coastweeks Celebration September 12-21 Ohio's 2008 Coastweeks observance will again focus on the preservation and protection of Lake Erie and its watershed through a variety of cleanup events along the shoreline and throughout its watershed. 4/28/08 4/4/08 - Lake Erie Protection Fund Grantees File Final Reports Reports detailing the results of seven projects supported by the Lake Erie Protection Fund are available online for public view, according to the Ohio Lake Erie Commission, the awarding agency. 4/2/08 - Federal Funding Available For Land Preservation Projects in the Lake Erie Watershed Communities within Ohio's Lake Erie Watershed that are seeking to acquire land for preservation and recreation can apply for up to $3 million per project in federal grants through the Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program (CELCP). 3/10/08 - Six Appointed To Ohio Coastal Resources Advisory Council Six Ohio residents of the Lake Erie Watershed were recently appointed to the state's Coastal Resources Advisory Council. Another five residents were reappointed to the board. 3/7/08 - Ohio Coastal Atlas Project Wins National Award The Ohio Coastal Atlas Project of ODNR has been awarded a 2008 National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) Environmental Education Award. 2/28/08 - Lake Erie Commission Sponsors 2008 “Life On Lake Erie” Photo Contest Camera buffs and photo aficionados are encouraged to enter this year’s “Life on Lake Erie” photo contest, sponsored by the Ohio Lake Erie Commission. The 2007 contest is open to amateur photographers taking snapshots in and around the Lake Erie watershed.
