STATE NATURE PRESERVE - 170 ACRES

Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve is comprised of Grape and Ewing islands. It was acquired by the Maumee Valley Audubon Society and donated to the Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo Area. It was acquired and dedicated as a nature sanctuary managed for a variety of habitats and species.

This is the only riverine island community in the Ohio state nature preserve system.

Location:

Located in Lucas County on the Maumee River within the City of Maumee and adjacent to Perrysburg. This preserve is owned and managed by the Toledo Metropolitan Park District. The area is accessible only by private watercraft. There is a small unimproved boat landing; no other facilities are present.
