Main Feature:
Summer prairie wildflowers.
This site includes the crest and slope of a southfacing bluff overlooking the Stillwater State Scenic River.
Frequent disturbances due to slumping of the slope, have maintained a tallgrass prairie community.
Typical prairie species growing here include big bluestem, little bluestem, nodding wild onion, partridge pea, flowering spruge, butterflyweed, hoary puccoon, wild bergamot, and gray-headed coneflower.
Location:
Located between Union Church Road and Bradford-Bloomer Road north of State Route 185 and north of the Stillwater River. Limited access; no visitor facilites present.
