Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus)
Permanent resident.
A southern species whose population levels fluctuate in Ohio with the severity of the winters. They are frequently found along riparian corridors in central Ohio and around residences in both rural and suburban situations.
They are primarily occupants of brushy edge habitats, young woods with fairly dense undergrowth, and brushy thickets.
Along Big Darby Creek, Carolina wrens were most common in those sections of wooded corridor that exceeded 25 feet in width.
