Ohio Conservation
Seedlings are used in reforestation, wildlife habitat development, erosion control, windbreaks, and other conservation projects.

Through the state’s reforestation efforts, Ohio is now more than 30 percent forested, compared to just 12 percent in the early 1900s.

If you have land unsuitable for farming or idle land, why not leave a legacy of treed forestland. Forests are renewable resources and increase land values and the quality of life for the landowner and community in general.

The nursery offers a wide range of seedlings, including maple, oak, buckeye, sycamore, dogwood, redbud, and pine. The minimum orders is 100 trees; they’re sold in multiples of 100 of each species. Orders ship in early spring beginning the first week of March, weather permitting. No orders are taken for Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon or outside the U.S.

Restriction: Seedlings grown and sold by Marietta State Nursery are intended for general reforestation and conservation purposes. No seedlings distributed by the nursery shall be removed and resold with roots attached.

Grown from eastern forest species and seed sources selected for Ohio and neighboring states.
