Lavalle Hawthorn - Crataegus lavallei
Cincinnati Planted: 1964
1029 Banks Site: 5' Square in Sidewalk

1971 Comments:
The trees are planted in a bad sidewalk tree well, but appear to be growing quite nicely. There are utility lines overhead, but it is doubtful they will be a problem. The trees have fruited satisfactorily during the period of this study. There will be some pruning necessary to maintain a uniform character that is desirable in this particular area.

1997 Comments:
None of the approximate twenty original trees survived. Six Washington Hawthorn replacements were planted in this area and remain. The replacements range from 7-10" in diameter and have a considerable amount of cedar quince rust.

Zero percent of the overall planting survived (0 of 20 trees).
