Lavalle Hawthorn - Crataegus lavallei
Toledo Planted: 1963
1081 Woodruff Site: 15' Tree Lawn

1971 Comments:
This planting is located on a narrow street in a wide tree lawn with a deep setback of homes. The trees have begun to open up in character and there has been evidence of fireblight and dieback in the planting in past years. Because of the wide tree lawn and large 2 1/2 to 3 story houses, a larger tree would have been more suitable.

1997 Comments:
Only one of the original five plants is still in place. Planting width of the tree lawn is 15' which is certainly generous; and yet, survival is still very poor. Wind throw is common with most Hawthorns.

Twenty percent of the overall planting survived (1 of 5 trees).
1997 data on the table are based on one tree.
