Japanese Scholar Tree - Sophora japonica
Cleveland Planted: 1960
3287 West 33rd Site: 6' Tree Lawn

1971 Comments:
These trees are located on an old residential street with low overhead lines and very shallow setback homes. The trees have grown considerably since planting, They are consistent in size and form and add to the attractiveness of the street.

1997 Comments:
There are no originals left under the power lines. In the areas with no overhead lines, a number of the plants remain. Survival estimates are based on the entire planting rather than at areas where there are no overhead lines. Sidewalk disruption by the original plants is minor.

Seventeen percent of the overall planting survived (5 of 29 trees).
1997 data on the table are based on 4 trees.
