Information about Region 5 Urban Forestry Program
The Emerald Ash Borer is rapidly becoming a significant threat to our urban tree canopies. To ensure that your community is prepared for its environmental, social, and economic impact, I strongly recommend that you develop and implement an EAB Management Plan.
Please visit our EAB Management site for more information, and contact me for help. In June 2011, the Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) was discovered in Tate Township in Clermont County. ALB was first detected in the United States in 1996 in Brooklyn, NY. Ohio is the fifth state to detect the destructive ALB. Potential infestations are encouraged to be reported to ODA at 855-252-6450. Please visit our ALB information site (http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/health/asianlonghorned/tabid/5197/Default.aspx) for more information.
