This guidebook explores the close relationship between the geologic and geographic setting of Akron and its development as a city. The guidebook also serves as an introduction to the various types of stone, including stone from the Sharon Formation, used in construction of the city. The guidebook contains 80 figures, including photos, maps, and historic drawings, as well as a glossary of terms that may not be familiar to the general reader.
